Navvis Appoints Veteran Healthcare Leader as Chief Medical Officer

St. Louis, Missouri, October 22, 2025 – Navvis, the leading value-based care enablement company, has appointed Jeff Gleason, MD, MBA, FACOG, as chief medical officer. Dr. Gleason brings 30 years of experience as a senior physician executive, guiding diverse healthcare organizations through transformational change. His extensive leadership experience spans the healthcare continuum at the board, C-suite, clinically integrated network, health system, and multi-specialty medical group levels, with a proven track record of care management redesign and optimization, as well as developing and implementing solutions that deliver performance in both value-based care and valuable volume.

In his new CMO role at Navvis, Dr. Gleason will serve as an enterprise physician leader and strategic clinical partner to healthcare executives across Navvis’ client partners in its 13 national markets, focusing on helping health system and physician enterprise partners succeed in risk-based payment models while optimizing fee-for-service performance. Dr. Gleason will lead clinical strategy development to further improve patient affordability, access, experience, and quality while reducing care variation and unnecessary utilization. Key initiatives include optimizing ACO and CMS TEAM performance, and further reducing hospital length of stay and readmission metrics. He will also spearhead Navvis’ comprehensive physician engagement capabilities, which enhance professional satisfaction and modernize compensation models.

Dr. Gleason’s distinguished career includes serving as board member and medical director for the Vanderbilt Health Affiliated Network, where he oversaw network and clinical operations for a network encompassing 13 health systems, 60 hospitals, 350 physician practices, and 4,800 total providers managing over 200,000 covered lives. Dr. Gleason then served as national chief medical officer for PHSO (Population Health Service Organization) Operations at Lumeris, where he recruited and managed regional medical directors supporting health system partners in value-based care performance. He was also a practicing physician for more than 20 years and served as chief medical officer at Cookeville Regional Medical Center, where he led hospital quality improvement initiatives and drove significant clinical transformation.

“Dr. Gleason represents exactly the type of clinical leader we seek at Navvis, someone who understands both the clinical and operational complexities health systems face and the transformational opportunity that value-based care presents,” said Courtney Fortner, Navvis president and CEO. “His unique combination of hands-on clinical experience, C-suite and board-level leadership, and deep expertise in clinically integrated networks makes him ideally positioned to continue the collaborative work we are doing in partnership with our health system, physician enterprise, and health plan clients as they navigate the dual imperatives of excelling in value-based contracts while optimizing their fee-for-service operations. Dr. Gleason’s proven ability to engage physicians and drive meaningful performance improvements is invaluable as we continue to help healthcare organizations around the country transform their care delivery operations.”

“Healthcare transformation requires unprecedented collaboration between health systems, physician enterprises, and health plans,” said Dr. Gleason. “The most successful organizations will be those that can excel in both traditional fee-for-service and advanced risk models. At Navvis, I’m excited to work with healthcare leaders across the country who recognize that this isn’t an either-or proposition, but rather an opportunity to build sustainable, high-performing systems that deliver exceptional outcomes for patients, ensure physician satisfaction, and provide financial sustainability. Our role at Navvis is to provide the clinical expertise and operational acumen that accelerates care delivery transformation and scales it system-wide.”

Dr. Gleason earned his Doctor of Medicine from the University of Kansas School of Medicine and completed his residency and chief residency in obstetrics and gynecology at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. He also holds a Master of Business Administration with a healthcare concentration from Auburn University School of Business and is board certified in obstetrics and gynecology. He completed the Physician Leadership Program at The Health Management Academy in Washington, D.C.
