St. Louis, Missouri, June 3, 2025 – Navvis, a leading value-based care enablement company, has appointed Sari Miettinen, MD, as market president and physician executive to provide clinical transformation leadership and spearhead the company’s partnership with Tufts Medicine. The role oversees initiatives designed to infuse value-based care and population health management across the care continuum, ensuring patients are being seen at the right place, at the right time, and at the right cost. Under Dr. Miettinen’s guidance, the partnership will further efforts to deliver whole-person care to enhance patient health outcomes and quality of care, while streamlining operational processes to improve physician capacity and satisfaction.

Dr. Miettinen is a pediatrician by training with deep experience building high-performing practices and a track record of standing up population health enterprises that align employed and private practice physicians in value-based care models to improve access and quality while reducing total medical expenses. Dr. Miettinen was previously the chief medical officer at Mass General Brigham’s Cooley Dickinson Healthcare. During her tenure, she implemented programs that reduced hospital-acquired infections and achieved the hospital’s first 4 Star CMS rating. Her market insight and experience working with stakeholders across Massachusetts will be instrumental in her new executive role to operationally advance Tufts Medicine’s systemwide population health strategy that proactively promotes wellness and disease prevention, while building strong ties between the healthcare ecosystem and the community.

“We are deeply committed to our ongoing transformational efforts, focusing on how our health system operates across all points of care and creating a model that delivers exceptional, sustainable, value-based care throughout the communities we serve,” said Emily Young, President of Tufts Medicine Integrated Network. “Our partnership with Navvis and Dr. Miettinen’s leadership enhances our vision of systemwide innovation and helps us support all providers across our system with the resources they need.”

“Navvis is fortunate to work with market-leading health systems like Tufts Medicine that work to create an entire ecosystem of high-value care delivery in both value-based care and fee-for-service, in partnership with physicians, clinicians, hospitals, and the community,” said Courtney Fortner, president and chief executive officer at Navvis. “Dr. Miettinen’s appointment strengthens our joint vision to support and enhance high-performing care that sets a new national standard for quality, access, and experience.”

Dr. Miettinen earned her doctorate at Baylor College of Medicine and completed a Master in Health Care Management at Harvard University’s T.H. Chan School of Public Health. She practiced at Texas Children’s Hospital for eight years before moving into executive leadership as the medical director for Heywood Medical Group, a community health system in North Central Massachusetts. She held medical director and chief medical officer positions at Mass General Brigham’s Cooley Dickinson Hospital, Medical Group, and Physician Hospital Organization.

“True value-based care transformation happens when the entire care delivery system within a market is supported to achieve success and physicians and their practices are an integral part of the transformational journey,” said Dr. Miettinen. “I’m thrilled to join Navvis and have the opportunity to work closely with Tufts Medicine, where together we will accelerate success by leveraging a systemwide and physician-centric approach to population health and value-based care.”
